Movie date

I cannot recall the last time I walked into a cinema to watch a movie that wasn’t rated G or PG. Over the weekend the kids were busy with their grandpa so my husband and I decided to sneak out for some children-free movie at a cinema. It was a golden opportunity which we had to seize.

The opening scene in the latest Bond movie ‘Spectre’ was epic. It centered around the Day of the dead parade in Mexico. The costumes, skeleton faces and the huge gigantic floats gave me a very heady feeling as though I was right in the middle of it all.

I’ve seen the trailer and watched (on YouTube) Sam Smith’s theme song for this James Bond movie but that was nothing compared to the opening credits. I would love to tell you all about it but that would just spoil the suspense for you.

I was awed at Adele’s song for ‘Skyfall’ but ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ by Sam Smith is truly something special. Catch his interview on Graham Norton’s show and learn how he came about writing this song. He joked about it and said he was relieved it was over because it was a difficult song to sing. His exact words “I had to squeeze my balls to hit the high notes”.

Leaving you the lyrics. Even if you don’t know the tune to this song (trust me it is damn hard to sing it like Sam Smith), just reading it is so poetic. It rhymes well.

Writing’s On The Wall”

I’ve been here before
But always hit the floor
I’ve spent a lifetime running
And I always get away
But with you I’m feeling something
That makes me want to stay

I’m prepared for this
I never shoot to miss
But I feel like a storm is coming
If I’m gonna make it through the day
Then there’s no more use in running
This is something I gotta face

If I risk it all
Could you break my fall?

[Chorus:]
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you’re not here I’m suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
For you I have to risk it all
Cause the writing’s on the wall

A million shards of glass
That haunt me from my past
As the stars begin to gather
And the light begins to fade
When all hope begins to shatter
Know that I won’t be afraid

If I risk it all
Could you break my fall?

[Chorus:]
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you’re not here I’m suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
For you I have to risk it all
Cause the writing’s on the wall

The writing’s on the wall

[Chorus:]
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you’re not here I’m suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you’re not here I’m suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
For you I have to risk it all
Cause the writing’s on the wall
